Santa Monica: A Filipino Ghost Story (New Series Preview)

Santa Monica is a small town that was once covered by darkness no one seemed to have foreseen. A Demon set afoot in the town thirty years ago, and with his presence, the lingering dead seemed to have a renewed power to do things they weren't able to do before. But the Demon left, taking three lives with him, and bringing back peace in the small town. But he wasn't done yet, and he really wasn't. Because he is back, after a long time.

Santa Monica shall face dark age anew.

This will be my new story series for 2012. I actually hope to write more long stories, but I just can't. Time and my writing don't agree with me. This story is kinda, err, a new one for me. It's a ghost story, as the title stated, but with a touch of a darker element, which is the Devil in a man's body. Although the "devil" is again a part of my new story like in The Art of the Demon, the two stories will in no way be similar more than the devil's part. This is probably my story with the biggest setting, with the biggest number of characters, and with the most complex plot. And with the most number of ghosts, of course. So I really am excited, and my fingers are crossed that you guys will like it.

And this one is in Filipino. I'm sorry to our foreign readers here in PHS. I told myself I would never write a story in Filipino anymore because it's hard to type and spell the words decently and I want to reach more readers, but guess what? I've just started writing one. I am not sure though if this is the last. Maybe this is the last series in Filipino, but it might not be the last in my short stories.

And there will be some changes, too. Since Wattpad is a fast rising website, I decided to create this story for that website and have a new readership there. It's also the reason why it's written in Filipino. But of course, it wouldn't be for that website alone. Santa Monica: A Filipino Ghost Story will definitely be here too. The prologue will be posted right after this one.

But, here's  the new thing: newer chapters of the series will be posted in my Wattpad account in advance. Therefore, for those who want read in advance, you should go to the Wattpad page of the story. The Prologue of the story has already been posted in the website.

2011 Philippine Blog Awards

Pinoy Horror Stories has been a finalist for the 2011 Philippine Blog Awards - Literary/Literature Category (National).

I was surprised when I read the invitation and congratulatory email today. Actually, the reason why I checked the email is because the Blog Awards has been the talk of the net today. And I thought about my entry, if ever this blog was nominated. I didn't expect it anyway so I didn't watch out earlier. But when I opened the email, I was flabbergasted; Pinoy Horror Stories is a finalist for the Literary/Literature Category (National) for this annual blog awards.

At first, I just stared at it if it was real. The next, I regretted that I didn't see it earlier. If I saw it earlier, I may have prepared to come to the event last night. But then PHS lost to Pointless Paranoia.

But still, I would like to thank the Philippine Blog Awards and the committee behind it for the nomination. I really didn't expect it. First, because PHS just started this May, that makes us at least 6 months old. Second, because I just didn't think this blog will be a finalist.

Again, thank you! This adds to our inspiration here. We will do better jobs and make more quality stories. Who knows, next year, Pinoy Horror Stories might finally win :-)

Pandemic's Creepers (Collection of Terrifying and Chilling Original Short Stories by Pandemic)

Hello! Sorry if I took too long to publish this collection of short stories! I've been very busy. In fact, it's supposed to be 10 stories in this collection, but I cut it to 5. And I think I haven't proof read the last two-part short story titled "The Thirteenth Day".

PHS Author Pandemic is going to release soon his very first collection of original horror stories. The compilation of the original horror stories is consisted of 10 creeping, chilling, and terrifying tales.

It is expected that Pandemic will release this series of short tales in the last week of August or in mid-September.

Former PinoyScaryBlog.Com contributor and now one of PHS main authors, Pandemic is set to release soon his newest original story series: The Art of the Demon.


The Art of the Demon is a new dimensioned horror story from the author of Bloody Mary: The Experiment and The Whisperer.


The Art of the Demon will be released in mid-May 2011 or later.


PLOT:


The Art of the Demon is a story in the point of view of Matthew Zaragoza, a 16 year-old 'promdi' or 'from the province' boy who moved to Manila to study in the popular university of St. Patrice.

Matthew thought he'd spend the rest of his first year in Manila discovering, and exploring the city. But he is set to discover more..

In St. Patrice University, Matthew met his newest friends, Kate, his classmate, and schoolmates Jake, and Marissa.

Odd things start to happen when the popular school cheerleader Alyna mysteriously disappeared. No one knows what really happened to Alyna..not when she was found a week later floating in Pasig river, dead, and BLOODLESS.

But it didn't end there, it just started. There are rumors circulating around the city before Alyna's disappearance that there's a cult of young people or students that's worshiping a certain demon, probably wishing to summon it.

Discover the mystery with Matthew, Kate, Jake, and Marissa and they unveil and discover the truth about The Art of the Demon.
