Kiss & Noise

TALE #1: For some reason, ang tawag sa office ng paper e “lungga ng mga maligno”, ewan ko ba kung reference sa’min yon or what, but it stuck, even though we kept moving from office to office. Me running joke (half-meant) na may resident mumuu sa TS, a spirit who has adopted and looks after the pub and its kids, that we have accepted and have learned to deal with, so usually rumors like this don’t bother us. Anyway…editor ako ng school paper, so pag may testing ng new applicants, tagabantay ako. One time I was almost asleep while watching a group of applicants. All of a sudden – and this is NO DREAM – somebody was kissing me! Gentle kisses on the cheek, with a whisper to “wake up”. I sprang up from the couch with a typical screech, startling all those who were taking the test. I never told them what had happened until the day they were accepted.

TALE # 2: Same place, the little corner office on the top floor of one SSC building. Adjacent ang Student Lounge at ang TS Office, but I prefer to sleep in the office kasi mas exclusive, walang maingay. So there I was, napping before a 6 PM class, when from the other room came loud laughter and screeching…parang nagkukulitan. Nainis naman ako kasi I hadn’t slept all the previous night finishing a project. So pumunta naman ako sa kabilang room. Pagsilip ko, the lights were off…lalo pa tuloy akong nainis, kasi bawal daw yun, baka mapagalitan kaming pare-pareho. So I said, in my best ‘student leader ako’ voice, “girls, ano ba yan? Ang ingay nyo, a!” and swung the door open.

Kailangan ko pa bang sabihing walang ni isang tao doon?

I stood there with my mouth open for about a minute while I tried to decide what to do. Tapos bigla na lang akong tumakbo until I found someone I knew. Muntik na akong hindi makapasok sa Law ‘coz I had left my books and stuff in the office!!!
