One night, the janitor of the elementary school there was sweeping early in the morning. Usually, the janitor visits the school before dawn so that the school will be clean when the students arrive.
The janitor is sweeping near an old classroom, and the ground is quite grassy. I don't know the exact time, but I think it's 3am. While he was sweeping, he heard a wild pig somewhere near him. He looked around. Some grasses are too high that wild pigs or 'other' small creatures cannot be seen when behind it.
The pig continue to shriek, or whatever it is doing. It's like it's threatening, hurting, or something.
When the janitor saw where the pig is hiding, he was then very certain that it wasn't just an ordinary pig. It's a black pig, but not just that. Not just an ordinary black, wild pig...but an aswang pretending to be a pig. The mouth of the pig is quite bloody. The janitor thought the aswang just victimized someone.
The janitor then drew his bolo (a large, heavy, single-edged knife or machete for hacking, used in the Philippines) and targeted the pig. The pig runs wildly around the janitor when it smelled threat from the man.
But being a man who grew up in poverty and a man of hard work, slaying the aswang in a form of a pig is not that hard. When the janitor was certain about the position where he can hit the pig, he threw the bolo. And the bolo just got right through the stomach of the pig. But being an aswang, the pig still has the energy to escape. The pig ran to the woods and by then, it was safe.
But it didn't end there. Although the aswang in a form of a pig wasn't slayed, one of the neighborhood died the next day..of stab in the stomach. It was an old lady. Although the people of the town hadn't confirmed that the old lady is the aswang, rumors have been circulating in that place for years that that certain lady and her family is a family of aswang.
If it's real or not, no one can tell.
P.S: That janitor is the lolo of my classmate when I was a freshmen in highschool :)
