2011 Philippine Blog Awards

Pinoy Horror Stories has been a finalist for the 2011 Philippine Blog Awards - Literary/Literature Category (National).

I was surprised when I read the invitation and congratulatory email today. Actually, the reason why I checked the email is because the Blog Awards has been the talk of the net today. And I thought about my entry, if ever this blog was nominated. I didn't expect it anyway so I didn't watch out earlier. But when I opened the email, I was flabbergasted; Pinoy Horror Stories is a finalist for the Literary/Literature Category (National) for this annual blog awards.

At first, I just stared at it if it was real. The next, I regretted that I didn't see it earlier. If I saw it earlier, I may have prepared to come to the event last night. But then PHS lost to Pointless Paranoia.

But still, I would like to thank the Philippine Blog Awards and the committee behind it for the nomination. I really didn't expect it. First, because PHS just started this May, that makes us at least 6 months old. Second, because I just didn't think this blog will be a finalist.

Again, thank you! This adds to our inspiration here. We will do better jobs and make more quality stories. Who knows, next year, Pinoy Horror Stories might finally win :-)

The Art of the Demon Plot + Banner

Former PinoyScaryBlog.Com contributor and now one of PHS main authors, Pandemic is set to release soon his newest original story series: The Art of the Demon.


The Art of the Demon is a new dimensioned horror story from the author of Bloody Mary: The Experiment and The Whisperer.


The Art of the Demon will be released in mid-May 2011 or later.


PLOT:


The Art of the Demon is a story in the point of view of Matthew Zaragoza, a 16 year-old 'promdi' or 'from the province' boy who moved to Manila to study in the popular university of St. Patrice.

Matthew thought he'd spend the rest of his first year in Manila discovering, and exploring the city. But he is set to discover more..

In St. Patrice University, Matthew met his newest friends, Kate, his classmate, and schoolmates Jake, and Marissa.

Odd things start to happen when the popular school cheerleader Alyna mysteriously disappeared. No one knows what really happened to Alyna..not when she was found a week later floating in Pasig river, dead, and BLOODLESS.

But it didn't end there, it just started. There are rumors circulating around the city before Alyna's disappearance that there's a cult of young people or students that's worshiping a certain demon, probably wishing to summon it.

Discover the mystery with Matthew, Kate, Jake, and Marissa and they unveil and discover the truth about The Art of the Demon.

Become a PHS Author

Do you have what it takes to be one of the main authors of Pinoy Horror Stories?


You may be qualified to become one of Pinoy Horror Stories authors!

All You Need to Do:

• Submit at least three (3) original short stories. Make sure the story you'll submit is original because you'll be disqualified if it isn't and, make sure that the short stories you will submit are long enough. At least 500 word-stories are more favorable, although we might consider shorter stories. It's about quality rather than the length.
• The stories should be well-written with an interesting plot that will both scare and entice the PHS readers.
• By submitting posts, you, the submitter then give the full rights of online publishing to PHS. The credits of the story nevertheless go to the writer.
• The story can be written in English or Filipino/Tagalog only.
• The story can be fictional or a true experience. It's better if it's fictional because you can write as many posts as you want if you qualify.
• Submit your three original stories at pinoyhorrorstories@gmail.com
• Who knows, you might be one of us authors! :)

Benefits If You Qualified to be an Author:

• You can put at least 1 advertisement unit to PHS blog. You can put 2 if you will use a smaller ad unit like link list.
• We will authorize you to write posts on PHS using your very own Blogger account. It will be like you also own the PHS!

Pinoy Horror Stories posts both fictional stories and true experiences. 

Do you have a scary story to tell? Is it fictional or a personal encounter? Submit your story at pinoyhorrorstories@gmail.com We'd love to read your stories and we would immediately publish it on our blog if your submission qualifies our taste.

By submitting a story, you hereby give us the full rights to publish your story/stories online. Although it can be a shared online publishing rights with other blogs or websites. The credits of the submitted stories nevertheless would be to the writer or to the submitter of the post. You can submit your story anonymously if you choose to. You can also add your Facebook, Twitter, Website URL etc. in the bottom part of your submission.
